The fourth annual silent auction is under way at the Discovery Shop in Los Altos. The auction acts as a fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society.
Volunteers make up the baskets. This year, the 30 baskets contain gifts befitting babies to baseball fans.
“This has been our best year ever for donations from the business community, individual donors and volunteers who help organize things for the auction,” said Ardy Bazarian, Discovery Shop manager. “We have an exciting group of donations from the Oakland Athletics this year,” she said. Items include an autographed baseball, field tickets and an autographed baseball cap by Jason Giambi. All Oakland Athletics souvenirs are included in two gift baskets.
Jamie Carpenter, owner of Jocco’s Restaurant, has donated a four-course dinner for four with wine from his wine cellar.
There are holiday baskets, baskets for cat-lovers and an Abercrombie & Fitch vintage picnic basket for six loaded with dinnerware.
The silent auction will continue until 3 p.m., Saturday.
The Discovery Shop is located at 243 Main St., Los Altos. For more information, call 949-0505.
