By Water polo tourney

The West Bay Water Polo Invitational is scheduled 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, at Los Altos High. The boys tournament will feature several area club teams, including host West Bay, Stanford, St. Francis, De Anza and West Valley. The 18-and-under teams play Saturday, 16-and-unders Sunday morning and 14-and-unders Sunday afternoon. Admission is free. For more information, call Jon Wiener at 949-3461.

Post pounds South SF

Hot hitting and near-perfect pitching led to Palo Alto Post 375’s 23-1 rout of South San Francisco July 11 in an American Legion baseball game played at Baylands Athletic Center in Palo Alto. Gunn High’s Jeff Bradshaw and Palo Alto High’s Colby Henard both went 4-for-5, with Bradshaw hitting three triples. Gunn’s Ray Hunter earned the win, striking out 16 batters. Post 375 (9-3 league, 11-8 overall) hosts the Menlo Park Brewers at 7 p.m. today at Baylands.

Get into the swing

The 10th Annual Ecumenical Hunger Program Golf Invitational is scheduled for Monday at the Los Altos Golf & Country Club. Registration begins at 11 a.m.; shotgun start at 1 p.m. The entry fee is $225. Proceeds benefit the Ecumenical Hunger Program of East Palo Alto. For more information, call Terri Lyon at 851-6760.

PONY tournament

Los Altos PONY Baseball will host a Pony Division (13-14 year olds) Sectional Tournament at Rosita Field. The double elimination tournament opens with two games each on Saturday and Sunday, at 10 a.m. and 1p.m. There will be a 5:30 p.m. game each day Monday through Friday.

The championship round is at 10 a.m., June 28. The Section champion will advance to the Regional tournament in Santa Clara.
