By Tech committee tackles global warming
The Technology and Society Committee’s bi-weekly luncheon will be held Tuesday at the Golden Wok Restaurant, 895 Villa St., Mountain View.
Ron Diridon, executive director of the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University and Chairman of the National Research Council’s Panel on “Combating Global Warming Through Sustainable Transportation” will present the results of a preliminary study conducted by the panel.
Lunch is $7.50 for members; $8.50 non-members.

Pink Slip Party for job-seekers

PG&E provides outage details
Pacific Gas and Electric Company, in response to requests for more information about rotating outages, has restructured its system to provide customers with a greater level of detail about where they are in the rotation.
Information has been available on each customers bill regarding the rotating outage block in which their home or business is located. Now, customers can go online 24 hours a day to www.pge.com, not only to learn more about their rotating outage block, but to see maps of how the blocks are assigned throughout the utility’s service territory. Also, customers can obtain an indication of which rotating outage block is next in line.
Customers without access to the Internet can obtain their rotating block outage information by calling 1-800-PGE-5000, using the automated service system.
