Today: 9:30 a.m. Board of Directors meeting. Everyone is invited to attend.

July 13: 1 p.m. Armchair Travel. Take a journey to a mystery destination. Refreshments will be served.

July 20: Noon. Friday Luncheon. Barbecue on the patio with hot dogs, hamburgers and fixings. Tickets $3 for members and $6 for guests.

July 25: 1 p.m. Volunteer Recognition with melon mania. Margie and Aldo will provide a pleasant musical interlude. An occasion to say “thank you” to the volunteers who keep the Senior Center running smoothly.

July 27: 1 p.m. Birthday Bingo: Celebrate July birthdays with cake, ice cream, music and free bingo. Everyone is invited.

July 28: 1 p.m. AARP General Meeting in Room 12. Flag ceremony in uniforms worn by the Continental Army during the American Revolution. Visitors welcome.

July 29: 1 p.m. Second Annual Ice Cream Social at Shoup Park. All the ice cream you can eat in a cone. Ye Olde Town Band supplies the music. Tickets, which may be purchased in advance, are $1.50 per person.

Mountain View Senior Center

The Los Altos Senior Center is located in the Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 948-7483.

The Mountain View Senior Center is located at 266 Escuela Ave. For more information, call 903-6330. Following is a list of special events for the month.

The American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) is offering a 55 Alive driving course noon to 4 p.m., July 31 through Aug. 2 at the center. A $10 fee is due at registration time. For more information, call 903-6330.
