Michelle Stevens and Gentry Underwood were married April 22 in Carmel Valley.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy and Tom Stevens of Los Altos. She graduated from Los Altos High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Stanford University.

She is an intern for Cornerstone Ministries at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church.

The groom is the son of Andee and George Underwood of Dallas, Texas. He attended Cistercian High School in Irving, Texas, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction from Stanford University.

He is self-employed as a software designer.

The couple live in Palo Alto.

Scherer, Nelson

Julie Scherer and James (J.P.) Nelson were married Nov. 4 at Portola Valley Presbyterian Church.

The bride is the daughter of Renie and Jim Scherer of Los Altos.

She graduated from Los Altos High School and earned a degree in psychology at the University of Michigan.

She is employed as an occupational therapist at Marin County Schools.

The groom is the son of Florence and Jerry Nelson of Scottsdale, Ariz.

He graduated from Kate High School in Carpenteria, Calif., and from the University of California, Los Angeles.

He is employed at South San Francisco High School.
