Michelle Earhart and Andrew Leeson have announced their engagement to be married June 18 on Catalina Island. The reception will be held at the Wrigley Museum.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joan and Alan Earhart of Los Altos. She attended Sacred Heart Preparatory in Atherton and will graduate in June from Cal State San Marcus with a degree in liberal studies and communication.

The groom’s parents are Constance and the late Edward Leeson of Miami, Fla. He received two bachelor’s in science degrees from Florida State University and a master’s in science from Georgia State University. He was a Naval Intelligence Officer for 10 years. The couple plan to live in MiamLakes, Fla.

Bogart, Smith

Kristin Michelle Bogart and James Provost Smith were married Sept. 30 in Carmel. The reception was held at the Highlands Inn, Carmel.

The bride is the daughter of Mary Ann and John Bogart of Los Altos.

She graduated from Los Altos High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

The groom is the son of J.P. and Kaki Smith of Ponte Verdra Beach, Fla.

He graduated from The Bolles School, Jacksonville, Fla., and the French Culinary Institute in New York City.

The couple live in San Francisco.

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
