The Greater Bay Area Chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is asking people to donate their used cars, trucks and motorhomes to help those afflicted with inflammatory bowel diseases.
The “Cars For A Cure” program gives the maximum tax deduction as allowed by law, while helping to fight digestive diseases.
Interested donors must have clear title to the vehicle and registration. The CCFA will arrange for free pick-up or towing, as well as handling any paperwork from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Donors receive a receipt for Blue Book value.
The Greater Bay Area Chapter of the CCFA covers seven counties, including Santa Clara.
Proceeds from the donation program directly benefit patients suffering from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The CCFA utilizes 80.5 percent of funds received for research, educational programs and support services.
Debilitating digestive diseases affect approximately 2,000,000 people every year, according to the CCFA. A majority of those affected are children and young adults.
