By The Community School of Music & Arts (CSMA) will hold its annual benefit for arts education 6-10 p.m., March 23, at the Crowne Plaza Cabana Hotel, 4290 El Camino Real, Palo Alto.

All proceeds from this year’s event called “There’s No Place Like Home” will benefit the school’s Financial Aid Program, which provides student scholarships and tuition assistance.

If the event’s title seems familiar, it’s meant to be. As Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” was looking forward to getting home, CSMA is looking forward to moving into a permanent home in the future. The school is currently in the design and planning stages of building a center for arts education at San Antonio Circle in Mountain View.

The event will include musical performances headlined by The Taylor Eigsti Trio, a student/faculty art exhibit, auction and gourmet dinner.

The Community School of Music & Arts is a non-profit center for arts education committed to providing arts for all, regardless of age, level, background or economic means.

In Our Opinion

Editorial

We’ve recently covered the passing of two of this community’s most involved and committed volunteers, Lee Lynch and Billy Russell. They represented an era when people helped out, not so they could get their name on a building, but because it was simply the right thing to do.

There’s a new generation of volunteers hard at work right now in this community who are carrying on their legacy. The level of involvement in the recent Los Altos Relay For Life event bears this out.
