Homestead posts 30-point API increase
Homestead High School joins the other four Fremont Union High School District schools in increasing their Academic Performance Index (API) scores. Homestead scored 749 in the 1999 Baseline year and raised it to 779 for the 2000 Growth year.
“All five (high schools) exceeded their growth targets and qualified for financial awards,” stated Superintendent Joe Hamilton.
“This increase in our schools’ API scores reflects the dedication of the District’s staff to improve instruction, the hard work of the students and the districtwide effort to better align our curriculum to state and national standards.”
As a result of the 30 point increase, Homestead will receive state financial awards in February in two categories: the Governor’s Performance Award, approximately $60 for each ninth, 10th and 11th-grade student who took the test; and the School Site Employee Performance Bonus, one-time funds split equally between school site expenditures and school site staff bonuses.
