By Viewpoints Gallery: Lillian Balliet, one of the 15 co-op owners of Viewpoints Gallery at 315 State St., Los Altos said the September theme will be "Through the Painter's Eye."
Artists will be displaying their original works in oils and watercolors. Most of the etchings and scenes will be local including a variety of landscapes.
Viewpoints is introducing a new potter, Hildy Licht of Los Altos, who will feature her sculpture art. Another potter, Jean Prophet will also have some of her sculptured pieces on display.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Gallery 9: “Kimono Festival” by Shigemi Sanders will be the featured ceramic exhibit at Gallery 9, 143 Main St., Los Altos through September 23. A reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sept. 9.
The theme of the show reflects Sander’s unique expression of Japanese tradition of festivals and rituals through her works of ceramic pieces.
The artist will include a collection of fused glass kimonos, adding a totally new, liberated dimension to her traditional Raku works.
Regular gallery hours are 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
ZYT Galerie: The Joe Jaqua exhibit will be featured at ZYT Galerie at 923 N. San Antonio Road in Los Altos. Many of Jaqua’s paintings are limited editions. He features many scenes from the south of France and San Francisco.
ZYT Galerie hours are Tues., Wed. and Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday , 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Los Altos Hills Town Hall: A new exhibit featuring Margie Miller Utzinger and her family will be on display in the Los Altos Hills City Council chambers, 26379 Fremont Road, from Sept. 10 through Oct. 27.
Utzinger will display her latest interest in the form of animals decorated in various styles. Her father, Gerhard C. Miller and her son, David Gerhard Utzinger will also display their paintings.
The public is invited to a reception for the artists Sept. 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Town Hall Chambers.
