By Nancy Marston's four children wanted to give their mother a 70th birthday gift as creative as she is.

As a founding art docent who served as the docent coordinator for 12 years, Marston devoted much of her time and energy to providing arts education for children in Los Altos schools. Her children commemorated her efforts by creating the Nancy Marston Endowment to benefit the art docent program.

“This endowment is an ideal and fitting recognition for Nancy,” said Nancy Barnoski, the current art docent coordinator.

While the docents have not decided how they will direct the funds, they may use them to move their office from its current location at the Covington school site.

“When my children told me what they had done, I was overwhelmed,” Marston said. “They couldn’t have given me anything I would have liked better.” To contribute to the endowment, call Nancy Barnoski at 941-4010 ext. 18.
