A native of Pittsburgh, Penn., he attended Iowa State University, and his career in building materials began in Denver, Colo., and continued in Portland, Ore., and in the Bay Area. He completed 25 years of service with Georgia Pacific Corporation.

John S. Millar

A Los Altos resident since 1953, he was a graduate of San Jose State Business School and was elected to the honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma. A World War II veteran, he spent his time on a destroyer and a battleship in the Pacific Theater.

Adrian Raymond Hatfield

He attended Stanford University and married Margery Kernan in 1943 during World War II. His trade was a carpenter as well as an aerial photographer, and he founded Hatfield Aerial Surveys, based in Los Altos Hills for 24 years. After his retirement, he founded Hatfield Archival Photos.

Coming to Los Altos three years ago from St. Francis High School, she teaches Spanish IV/V/VI AP, Spanish III and Spanish III Honors classes. In addition to teaching her classes, Salsman de Rodriguex also serves as advisor to the sophomore class, the Spanish Club, the Star Trek Club and the Coffee Club.

In a two-game set with Campbell, the locals blasted their opponents 20-1 and 13-1. Sibohan Hyde hurled a no-hitter in the first game and reached base in every at-bat. Two defensive plays preserved the no-hitter: shortstop Katrina Hafalia's over-the-shoulder catch and left fielder Chrissy Sommer's throw to nail a Campbell runner out at first base. Game two featured a Hafalia no-hit, 10-strikeout victory. At the plate, Anna Garcia cleared the bases on Mountain View's first home run in recent history.
